World Shoot 2025 - My Journey (#7 Overall, Classic Division)

World Shoot 2025 is done! Thank you Lord for this wonderful experience. It was super crazy!!! Getting to South Africa and competing with the National Team for the first time was an awesome experience! Had the best time and prep with my good friend, Edcel Gino (Who finished 4th overall in Production Optics). Also good range time and training session with Jay Beal, Gazz Evans and Sasha Du-Plessis a few days before the match started (Thank you for pretty much hosting us, guys!). Also, a 3 days before the actual match, I pulled my neck!!! That was pretty bad. Eventually took some muscle relaxant and it was kinda ok the day before the match and match day. This was my first solo match!!! Competing abroad without family definitely added to the experience and overall learnings of this match. This was also my first time being a part of the Philippine team I was squatted with Lenard Lopez, Alfredo Catalan Jr. and Jag Lejano so about half the time I was pretty much starstruck by their skills and display of excellent shooting. 😂 This was a wonderful experience. Shooting in Klerksdorp, South Africa in September. It was surprisingly also very cold in the mornings and evenings. Temperature was about 10 to 12° at these times.  up till this point I only shot in the cold twice in my life and again this added experience and a lot of learning to the match in general. The days of world shoot was definitely a roller coaster of mental battles. Day 1 was a very bad performance and I just had to get out of that spot mentally. Thankfully, throughout the match, God gave me the courage and strength to push through the mental battle of the entire World Shoot 2025. Thank you Lord for this entire experience!!
