Mermaid Quay Walking Tour 4K | Cardiff Bay - Wales UK | August 2022

A relaxed beautiful waterfront walking tour through Cardiff Bay / Mermaid Quay Wales UK Recorded on the busy afternoon of Saturday 20th August 2022. Starting at LoLounge / Coffi Co on Harbour Drive and finishing all the way round at Techniquest Science and Discovery Centre. Points of interest include the Norwegian Church, The Senedd, Pierhead, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay Marina and The Pilotage which some people believe is the oldest building in Cardiff Bay. In the early 1980’s Cardiff Bay had become a neglected wasteland of derelict docks and mudflats. Its population suffered from social exclusion and had above average levels of unemployment. Today, the Cardiff docklands area is still known as Cardiff Bay and it has been transformed by the Cardiff Barrage that impounds the Rivers Taff and the Ely to create a massive fresh-water lake. A number of boat tours operate from Mermaid Quay, which allow you to gain an understanding of the history and fauna of this exciting and upcoming area. There is also a water taxi service which operates throughout the year from the Bay to the city centre and Penarth. Filmed from my powered wheelchair with a GoPro on 4K wide setting, hopefully the faint whizz of my 2 motors isn't too annoying.
