Making Pronunciation Instruction Accessible: Rhythm and Fluency Techniques
Presented by Michael Burri This webinar has been designed to help L2 teachers become more comfortable with teaching pronunciation, irrespective of their teaching experience and language background. The session begins with a brief overview of current issues in pronunciation teaching. Following this, the audience is provided with guidelines on how to assist their learners with identifying thought groups and prominence, both essential phonological features in teaching English rhythm. Building on these guidelines, the presenter then discusses various rhythm and fluency techniques that L2 instructors can use in their classrooms. The session concludes with audience questions.
