Starting as a zero-star recruit in 2019, Trost began at Morgan State before transferring to Indiana State from 2020-2023. He then moved to Wake Forest in 2024, where he started at right tackle, and finally landed at Missouri in 2025 for his final season. At Missouri, Trost had a breakout year, earning a 92 overall PFF grade, an 85 pass-blocking grade, and a 91.4 run-blocking grade, while allowing only one sack and committing four penalties.
