Rare View Under the Scrap Shredder – Bottom Set of Rotating Teeth & Yard Tour

In this video I return to S Norton’s Liverpool scrap yard — but this time with full permission to go onsite & film from inside. I was able to get closer than ever before, including filming the pre-shredder, the shredder itself, and the underside where the shredded material exits — something many viewers have asked to see. There is also drone footage showing the scale and layout of the yard from above, as well as general scenes around the site. S Norton is one of the UK’s major metal recycling companies, processing large volumes of scrap metal safely and efficiently. ⸻ Environmental and pollution control information Some viewers have previously raised concerns about oil spills or pollution at scrap yards. Modern permitted scrap metal facilities in the UK operate under strict Environment Agency regulations and environmental permits. These sites are designed with: • Impermeable concrete surfaces • Fully sealed drainage systems • Spill containment systems and bunding • Blind sumps, catch pits, and interceptors • Oil separators and controlled drainage infrastructure These systems ensure that any rainwater or liquid that comes into contact with scrap metal or machinery is captured and contained within the site rather than escaping into the environment. Oil interceptors and catch pits are specifically designed to separate oil, fuel, and contaminants from water, preventing pollutants from entering waterways or the environment. Any collected liquids are then either treated, reused, or removed safely by licensed waste contractors in accordance with environmental permits and regulations.
