The ID.3 faces enormous expectations. Volkswagen has set for this car that it will become the successor to the Beetle and the Golf, both in terms of its iconic status in the market and its sales volume. As of today, it's impossible to know if this car will reach those levels of four-wheeled legend. Both the Golf and the Beetle took time to achieve commercial success, so the ID.3 needs time and space to prove itself. But what we can do is thoroughly test it and assess what it offers. The premise is that we should find a compact car equivalent to a Golf. A versatile car for everyone and for all kinds of uses. From grocery shopping and commuting to work to taking you on vacation. A challenging proposition. In this test, we aim to discover how many of the things it's designed to do it better than a Golf or any other traditional compact car, and where its weaknesses lie.
