But I'm hooked and I own four or five of them now. Pickups are the big thing. They can range from the terrible Japanese versions (with all due respect to my Japanese friends) through to the uber-rock versions found in the J Mascis Squier, one of the best value production guitars on the planet. I like something in-between but without the super shrill top end and the unwanted hum. Aussie pickup guru, Chris Kinman, has come up with the perfect solution - in three different output/tonal tiers. This is his Fatmaster set. I love them. The Fatmasters sound traditional with just a tad more output than normal, and they have no hum due to Chris's "Zero Hum" technology - a BIG plus. They have just the right amount of pearly top end and tight bass and I might just put them in all of my other Jazzmasters too. Have a listen to the video and then go seek some out.
