Original title from 2003: Living Past - Old Customs in Attendorn, Sauerland, 1930 Attendorn is a former Hanseatic city with numerous traditions and sights. Our new "Film Treasures" features footage from the silent film "Old Customs in Attendorn," which Attendorn's vicar, Conrad Sander, commissioned the Cologne Image and Film Center to produce in 1930. These films depict traditional Easter and Marksmen's Festival customs. In 2003, the LWL Media Center, in cooperation with the Attendorn City Archives, published the old recordings with musical accompaniment and accompanying commentary. In addition to the footage of the traditional festivals, the 2003 production also includes footage of historical sites in Attendorn. In the "Film Treasures" series, we publish selected documentaries, short films, and amateur films from past decades in full length on YouTube. A characteristic of the film selection is that the "Film Treasures" focus on themes from Westphalia, examine them from the perspective of their creation, and convey a certain period flavor.
