REINER | ANÁLISIS COMPLETO: Las Heridas del Soldado (SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN)

Analysis of the character Reiner from Attack on Titan. Is there hope when there's no strength left to go on? What can we do when responsibility and inertia drive us forward, but not the will to live? In today's video, we'll try to delve into the mind of one of the most complex characters in the entire Attack on Titan anime. Reiner is a lost soul, broken by war. Another child soldier exposed to horror, responsible for a massacre, and haunted by ghosts to the point of dissociation. He doesn't recognize himself, and suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Dissociative Identity Disorder. Reiner's early childhood and the motivations he learns during that time will haunt him and shape many of the key decisions he makes throughout the story. Reiner is born an Eldian in Marley, and his mother soon reflects to him the inferior status under which her people live. She suffers because of who they are, outcasts, while his father is Marleyan. Reiner begins to understand, through his mother's suffering, that the world is unjust. His mother also instills in Reiner, whether intentionally or not, the pressure to escape this injustice. She exerts emotional manipulation on him so that he will gain recognition and a better status for his family. This will mark him for life.
