Tel-Ray Super Organ Tone Resurrection.......Saved from the Dump !!
This video features a rare and fascinating "oil can" delay-echo-reverb unit that was rescued from the trash heap by a viewer, and donated to me for complete restoration, so I could share the process with all of you. The motorized "oil can" unit was rusted and corroded due to the incorrect use of brake fluid instead of the proper Union Carbide Ucon LB-65 oil and all steel parts had to be media blasted prior to careful reassembly. I believe this is the only video on YouTube that demonstrates the complete disassembly, reassembly, electronic repair, and adjustment of an "oil can" delay unit......and viewers fascinated by vintage electro-mechanical guitar effects units should find this video to be quite interesting. The sounds it makes with a signal generator will bring back fond memories of 1950's science fiction movies, and the effects with a guitar are truly unique. In addition, Jack shows up to give the mighty Tel-Ray a thorough sniff test before hiding in plain sight, and we all take an aerial music break up a canyon to an ancient rock house.
