I was thrilled to hear that the oboe gets a lot of melodies in this game :) I wanted to achieve two things in the production of this cover: Try out my very new string library, and get used to recording my NEW ENGLISH HORN THAT I JUST BOUGHT!! :) I thought it would be smooth-sailing, but it wasn't XD My English Horn broke the day I started recording, and it took three full days to get it sorted out at a repair shop. Oh well :') Therion is the best!! Not gonna lie... I don't love all turn-based RPGs (I do love some, just not all), but I'm glad Square did something like this. Between Undertale and Cuphead, man it seems like these trending old-school games have really made it big!! In the future, I want to try to record as many live instruments as possible. It's just too hard to video edit when the few live instruments are sometimes not playing. It looks awkward, and it's stressful lol XD Plus, I need to get more comfortable with producing tracks that aren't fully-orchestrated or have a ridiculous amount of tracks. I do love doing it, but it doesn't help me improve as a mixer when I can hide behind a lot of muddy tracks behind solo/live parts. I need to be okay with some mistakes and not every cover is going to be perfect. I hope you guys enjoyed this cover of Therion from Octopath!
