"Story of an exchange" Simone Alessandrini (Italy) & "Mazaher ensembles and Amin Arghoul" 02 November, 2022 The world of European jazz embraces Egyptian popular music, intending to contribute to the art of meeting and creating new mixed musical languages. This musical meeting between Italy and Egypt, countries with a strong tradition linked to each other since ever, was organized by IIC Cairo and Makan ECCA, committed to enhancing the millennial musical heritage and promoting new talents and musical languages. The concert is the result of multiple meetings between Simone Alessandrini, in an artistic residence in Cairo, and Mazaher Ensemble. A relatively short but very intense period, in which there was real training by Egyptian musicians toward the saxophonist. The concert includes pieces of the Egyptian tradition, original pieces written for the occasion, and one Italian popular piece, with the aim of highlighting all the similarities that the two traditions share. Alessandrini's residency took place because he was among the winners of the AIR Project, conceived and created by MIDJ (Italian Jazz Musicians) with the contribution of SIAE ". [email protected] [email protected] www.egyptmusic.org "حكاية تبادل" لقاء بين عازف الساكسفون سيمونى أليساندريني (إيطاليا) وفرقة "مزاهر ". حين تحتضن الموسيقى الشعبية المصرية عالم الجاز الأوروبي، بهدف تقديم مساهمة صغيرة وجديدة في فن الحوار بين اللغات الموسيقية المختلفة. تم تنظيم هذا اللقاء الموسيقي بين إيطاليا ومصر ، دولتان ذات تقاليد قوية ومرتبطتان ببعضهما البعض منذ قديم الزمان، من قبل المعهد الثقافى بالقاهرة و"مكان" (المركز المصرى للثقافة والفنون)، الملتزمتان بتعزيز التراث الموسيقي وتشجيع التجارب الابداعية الجديدة. هذا الحفل هو نتيجة لقاءات مختلفة جرت في هذه الفترة بين الفنان سيموني أليساندريني، في أثناء إقامته الفنية بالقاهرة، وفرقة مزاهر. كانت فترة قصيرة نسبيًا ولكنها مكثفة للغاية، حيث كان هناك تدريب حقيقي من قبل الموسيقيين المصريين بصحبة عازف الساكسفون. يقدم الحفل مقطوعات من التراث المصري، ومقطوعات مؤلفة خصيصًا لهذا الحدث، ومقطوعة من التراث الإيطالية، بهدف إبراز الجوانب المتعددة للتراثين المصري والإيطالي. جاءت إقامة أليساندريني فى مصر بعد أن كان من بين الفائزين في مشروع AIR ، الذي نظمته مؤسسة MIDJ (موسيقيو الجاز الإيطاليون) بمساهمة من SIAEجمعية المؤلفين والملحنين الإيطالية. Artistic director: Ahmed El Maghraby "Storia di uno Scambio" L’incontro tra il sassofonista italiano Simone Alessandrini e "Mazaher ensembles" Il mondo del jazz europeo abbraccia la musica popolare egiziana, con l’intento di portare un contributo a quella che è l’arte dell’incontro e della contaminazione dei linguaggi musicali. Questo incontro musicale tra Italia ed Egitto, paesi con una forte tradizione, da sempre legati tra loro, e’ stata organizzato dall'Istituto Italiano di Cultura -IIC e il "Makan" (Egyptian Center for Culture & Arts), impegnati nella valorizzazione del patrimonio musicale millenario e nella promozione di nuovi talenti e linguaggi musicali. Il concerto è il risultato dei vari incontri che ci sono stati in questo periodo tra Simone Alessandrini, in residenza artistica al Cairo, e Mazaher Ensemble ed altri musicisti provenienti da diversi generi musicali popolari egiziani (Zar, beduino, Gypsy, orientale, ect) Un periodo relativamente breve ma molto intenso, in cui c’è stato un vero e proprio training fra musicisti egiziani ed il sassofonista italiano. Il concerto si divide tra brani della tradizione Egiziana, brani originali scritti per l’occasione e un brano italiano, con l’intento di mettere in risalto tutte la ricchezza e la diversita' che le due tradizioni hanno in comune. La residenza di Alessandrini ha avuto luogo dopo essere stato tra i vincitori del Progetto AIR, ideato e realizzato da MIDJ (Musicisti Italiani di Jazz) con il contributo di SIAE".
