It means, §         Set tongue rail of close switch to stock rail with reasonable pressure §         Maintain proper opening between tongue rail of open switch and stock rail §         Locks the tongue rails ones points/ switches are correctly set in require position. ¨      Open OR close detection and control contact in predefined sequence §         to control feed to motor §         to prove correct setting and locking of switches. ¨      Facilitates manual operation of point with help of crank handle. Process of crank handle insertion in the machine, interrupts/disconnects power supply path of motor to prevent simultaneous power and manual operation. ¨      Provides overload protection to motor ¨      Provides snubbing arrangement (it is mechanical or electrical arrangement to bring motor to a smooth stop at the end of every operation, otherwise motor which is rotating at very high speed 1700 RPM will come to sudden stop with jerk)
