Caving Lava Tubes Inside an Active Volcano
Join @HatfieldAndSea as we explore the lava tubes of the active volcano Mount St. Helen's, in Washington State. In this journey we will hike 3 miles over rock scrambles, underground ponds, and hidden skylights. The cave is very cold even though it's warm outside, we will hike 2 hours in complete darkness - testing our paranoia and boosting our adrenaline. Ape Cave is located just past Cougar, Washington and is run by the National Park System (NPS). All you need to do to visit is schedule a time slot and pay $2 for parking, as well as have the America The Beautiful NPS pass. Highly recommend for anyone looking to have a hike they'll remember, in a lava tube of an active volcano!
