At Disney World, you can go to EPCOT where the Mexico Pavilion transforms into a lively fiesta hub for Cinco de Mayo so that's where this theme park food expert and vegan disney world foodie went but it was a fail. While many associate Cinco de Mayo with margaritas and tacos, it actually commemorates the Battle of Puebla in 1862. During this battle, the outnumbered Mexican army secured victory over the French during the Second Franco-Mexican War. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not Mexico’s Independence Day, which falls on September 16. The heart of Cinco de Mayo celebrations at Disney World lies in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion. Here, you’ll find a vibrant blend of culture, music, and delicious food.
