→ Join me on a 90 minute hop up north as we traverse between Atlanta and Chicago aboard Southwest Airlines! This flight has unmatched views as we head up from Dixie Alley, up through the Ohio Valley and finishing with a breathtaking approach into Chicago's Midway airport! I hope you join me on the whole journey! We begin at ATL's gate C10, push back and head for the north complex, but, more specifically, runway 8R. One of the planes that took of prior to us was headed to my home airport of Tucson, AZ — so that was cool to see! Once airborne, we fly the VARNM2 departure and climb to cruising altitude of 40,000 feet. Upon reaching 40,000 feet, we cruise over Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, before beginning a gradual descent into MDW, making the famous 22L approach, low over downtown Chicago and turning final at just a mere 1,100 feet AGL. A solid landing on 22L later, this full flight finishes with a taxi to gate A4A and a quick look into some of the roughest baggage handling I've seen to date — you even get to see my exact bag get tossed like a ragdoll. Good thing I didn't have anything fragile in it!
