The Water Village (Kampong Ayer), Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei GoPro 1080p

Kampong Ayer (also known as Venice of the East) is a historical settlement area in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It consists of a cluster of traditional stilt villages built on the Brunei River, mainly in the vicinity of the present-day Pusat Bandar or the City Centre. Unlike other floating villages in Southeast Asia, the one in Bandar Seri Begawan bears a resemblance to more of a mini-city than anything else. A massive 38 kilometres (23.6 miles) of wooden and concrete boardwalks connect 40 or so villages. Timber houses with sun-faded exteriors sit next to mosques, schools and restaurants. It is home to around 13,000 inhabitants (as of 2018); Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei 2019. Shots were taken with GoPro Hero 7 Black 2.7K downsized to 1080p HD.
