His artistic journey unfolded in three key stages: 🇬🇷 Crete – Master of Byzantine iconography (St. Luke Painting the Virgin, Dormition of the Virgin). 🇮🇹 Italy – Influenced by Titian, Tintoretto, and Michelangelo, mastering light, color, and anatomy (The Last Supper, The Annunciation). 🇪🇸 Spain (Toledo) – His mature period, inspired by the Counter-Reformation, produced masterpieces like The Disrobing of Christ and The Burial of the Count of Orgaz. El Greco also painted notable portraits (The Nobleman with his Hand on his Chest) and religious altarpieces for Toledo and Madrid.
