I compare it to my RED Cinema Cameras including the RED Epic-X Mysterium-X and the RED Epic-M Dragon and have lots of sample footage to show after putting this camera through its paces for a month. As far as Cinema Cameras go the blackmagic pyxis is extremely competitive compared to cameras like the Blackmagic cinema camera, Sony FX30, Sony FX3, Sony FX6, RED Komodo, RED Komodo-X, and is much more capable than the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras. The BMPCC 4k and BMPCC 6k are very popular, but for years people have been wishing for a budget full frame box-style cinema camera, and the BMD Pyxis exactly that. With a color science similar to ARRI, and a form-factor similar to the RED Komodo, this budget cinema camera will be great for many filmmakers and DPs. Especially for shooting anamorphic with the Blazar Remus anamorphic lenses, the 3:2 open gate and internal-desqueezing of the PYXIS is amazing.
