🔴 ARE THE PEOPLE'S AGENDA AND THE POLITICAL AGENDA THE SAME? | DIYARBAKIR STREET INTERVIEW We extended microphones to citizens on the streets of Diyarbakır and asked a question that will be widely discussed: “Are the people's agenda and the political agenda the same?” The majority of citizens participating in the interview stated that the main agenda of the people is the economy, the struggle to make ends meet, rent prices, market price increases, and unemployment; while they argued that the political agenda revolves around completely different issues. Citizens, especially noting that recently the CHP, Özgür Özel, internal party disputes, and political polemics have been discussed in politics, stated that the real problems of the people are not sufficiently addressed in parliament. Some citizens said, “The people have become depoliticized,” adding that people no longer trust politics and that economic problems are growing every day. Citizens speaking on the street stated that the people's agenda and the political agenda have become completely independent of each other, creating a major disconnect in society.
