After the Lombaxes were sent to a different dimension, Ratchet's father sent him to the Solana Galaxy or more precisely planet Veldin out of all other planets out there. Why Veldin? The Lombaxes lived on planet Fastoon in the Polaris Galaxy. Planet Veldin has a very similar environment, a desert planet. It looks like Veldin has some Lombax technology around the place, as if research was being done and suddenly got abandoned.
