Richard Hawley "Coles Corner" - Vocal Piano Cover by Paul Jackson

My piano vocal cover of the title song from Richard Hawley's solo album "Coles Corner" Connect with me at http://pauljacksonmusic.com   / paulajacksonmusic     / paulajacksonmusic     / pjacksmusic   I first encounterd Sheffield singer songwriter and guitarist Richard Hawley when he joined Pulp's live band back in 1996. It was his third solo album "Coles Corner" which drew me in to his wonderful song catalogue. So I wanted to pay tribute by performing a song from that album. It is named after a street in Sheffield where there used to be the Cole Brothers department store, but is still named after it as a meeting spot for people. Cold city lights glowing, The traffic of life is flowing, Out over the rivers and on into dark. I'm going down town where there's music, I'm going where voices fill the air, Maybe there's someone waiting for me With a smile and a flower in her hair I'm going down town where there's people The loneliness hangs in the air. With no-one there real waiting for me, No smile, no flower nowhere. Composed by Richard Hawley Published by BMG Music / Universal Music
