Although there's their own nursery in Belbari, he enjoys working at this agricultural farm that his wife started. He then told us about his business. They bring many of the plants needed for their farm from Mirik, India. From those, they propagate more plants. Nursery owners come to buy saplings from them. He doesn’t feel lazy about working. He wakes up at 3 AM, checks his mobile for a bit, makes and drinks tea, and heads out to work as soon as daylight touches the ground. He had spent more than 10 years in Saudi Arabia, a Gulf country, before returning home. When we asked him about the difference between working abroad and working here, he said, “Over there, you could work in segments. Here, that’s not possible.” Even while he was abroad, he used to grow leafy greens and chilies by fertilizing the ground with goat manure at his workplace.
