Welcome to my personal growing review Of modern shrub Rose ‘Countess of Wessex’ -(BEAcream )bred by Amanda Beales and available through ‪@PeterBealesRoses‬ This is a modern shrub rose reaching around one to 1.2 m tall and around 60 to 90 cm wide making it perfect for growing as a low informal boundary hedge It has an incredibly long flowering period starting its show in late May it will march forward with wave upon wave of beautiful creamy ivory white flowers right through to the back end of September and into the early parts of October It’s virtually thornless meaning it’s tall upright strong and sturdy stems are perfect for cutting and bringing into the house and displaying in a vase where in Home trials they’ve held for around 5 to 6 days It has great disease resistance and is happy growing in full sun or impartial shade even on a rough or poor soil where you may have struggled to grow a rose before The buds are a beautiful light clotted cream yellow tightly spiral and swelled. They open to a loosely formed fully double soft ivory white flower with a beautiful glowing golden centre of stars at the heart.
