JTS4 Ep 5 - Overlanding South Africa: Western Cape Wanderlust...from Vermaaklikheid to Grabouw

It was my first time in Vermaaklikheid and I'd chosen this area because I really wanted to surf Still Bay and Jongensfontein again - it's been years since I had! But I'm starting to believe the Surf God's don't care much for Just To See How Far It Is, because all we had was howling onshores and zero surf. Well thank goodness for our amazing pad - we really were loving living in the lap of luxury at Thorn and Feather - a truly spectacular property and incredible location! And of course as is often the case, the day we left was THE most perfect day...it's an area i'd love to come back to, especially to explore Puntjie - what a beautiful spot. It also marked our last day on the road with Bushy, our loan Defender, as my car was finally repaired with Marcus heading for Grabouw to do the swop out! I know i've been giving the Landy owners some stick, but it really is such an iconic car that casts the perfect silhouette across any dusty road landscape. A massive thank you to Marcus - what an incredible friend and saviour of the show - without him and Bushy, we'd not have got on the road! Our destination - Grabouw and the Outdoor and Adventure Expo - but our routing took us via Worcester to meet up with the group joining us for our very first Western Cape Gathering! What lay ahead was two wonderful nights camping on the banks of the Eikenhof Dam - expo, fire, friends and rugby!
