Thanks to the rich food supply here, over 200 wild whale sharks gather every year to feed — a true “whale shark sanctuary.” Getting here isn’t easy: it took a 15-hour flight plus 4 days on a liveaboard. But it was worth it. We captured massive whale sharks — up to 34 tons — charging straight toward us with their mouths wide open. And yes… there was even a heart-stopping moment when feeding whale sharks bumped into each other and brushed right past me.
