Sometimes people ask me, Why isn't there more messages that we are hearing, you know, in different venues? Anointed, and they they say they don't, they don't sense that at all. Well, God cannot anointed to lie. And if who you are listening to is not preaching the truth according to the Word of God, then it will not and cannot be anointed. God's anointing can only be on truth. So what does this have to do with Bible translations? What's Wrong With The NIV Translation Philosophy: The NIV uses a dynamic equivalence approach, aiming to convey the thought or intent behind the original text rather than a strict word-for-word translation. However, this approach can sometimes lead to interpretations that reflect the translators' biases or theological views rather than the text's original meaning. Gender Language: One of the more contentious issues with the NIV has been its approach to gender language. The updated 2011 version of the NIV made several changes to make the language more gender-inclusive where the translators believed the original text intended to include both sexes. However, it changes the fundamental readings of the scriptures. Textual Basis: The NIV is based on a different set of manuscripts (mainly the Alexandrian text-type) than those used by some other translations (which often rely more on the Textus Receptus or the Majority Text). However, this leads to omissions or alterations in certain passages compared to the King James Version or other older translations. Commercialization: The exclusive copyright held by a single publisher, which restricts the use and reproduction of the NIV without permission. However, the Bible should be freely available to all. Problems With The NIV Bible Translation Over 64,000 words are missing from the King James Version. Meaning changed, words changed verses eliminated, Scripture tainted as a result. There are passages in the NIV that delete many phrases, as in Matthew 5:44. And even more so now than ever, which is most disturbing. The newest version of the NIV has now been made gender neutral. You decide what translation you should be reading. There are many good translations out there. But NIV is not one of them.
