Telling the Right Stories - Groundswell 2026

Speaker: Mary Colwell We have understood the power of stories for as long as we have been human. Through stories we tell each other what has meaning, what is good, what is bad, what is right or wrong. The form of stories has evolved over time, but whatever the subject the kernel of meaning remains. Powerful stories work because they touch the deeper parts of us that instinctively understand how stories relate to our humanity and our sense of belonging, to our communities and to our hopes and fears. In this session I will explore stories, what works, what doesn't and ask the audience to write their own stories of meaning.
