Sor: Fantaisie Elegiaque, op 59 Andante largo, Marche funebre (played by Alice Artzt - 1978)
For me, this is probably the finest masterpiece among Sor's compositions - a heartfelt lament upon the death of a friend, Charlotte Beslay...the words "Charlotte Adieu" are printed over the music towards the end of the piece. She must have been a very lovely lady to have inspired Sor to write such a wonderful piece.
