Affordable Leather Workbench with Two Life Hacks

This was such a satisfying build and really brought some renewed energy into my leather shop. I am excited for all the projects that I can do on my new workbench. I even have a few new tools I'll be adding to the shop soon so stay tuned. Hack/Tip #1: The material I used on the tabletop is called stall mat. It works great for a general work surface. The one problem it has is shock absorption. It makes it hard to set rivets or punch stitching holes...It's a little too bouncy for that. But it can take cuts and glue and oil like no other surface I've ever used. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pro... -This one has bumps on the bottom but would work fine and gives an example of what I used. I paid a lot more for mine, unfortunately Hack/Tip #2: French cleats are used widely by woodworkers, but I never see them in leather shops. They just make so much sense and they give you limitless possibilities for tools and accessories. I absolutely love the thread dispenser I made with french cleats. Bonus Hack/Tip: Hang onto your old drain pipe or cardboard tubing...It's a great way to store rolls of leather and keep them out of the sun and dust. I really hope you enjoyed the video. I put a lot of time and energy into them and, lately, it seems that even very few of my subscribers watch them. What kind of content are you guys craving from a channel like mine? More outdoor stuff? More knife sheaths? More general leather crafting? Please let me know in the comments. How can you support me?
