Matariki Around The World - Suzy's Book Corner

The lovely Miriama Kamo has teamed up with astronomer, Rangi Mātāmua, to create this beautiful book - Matariki Around the World - with the help of illustrator, Isobel Joy Te-Aho White. The cluster of stars that we know as Matariki are seen by countries all over the world, where they're known by different names! Miriama and Rangi tell the story of the stars, from some of those countries and also share an amazing amount of information about what the cluster of stars mean to us in Aotearoa. The book has been published by Scholastic NZ to coincide with the first time Aotearoa celebrates Matariki with a public holiday. Manawatia a Matariki - Celebrate Matariki!
