Valentino Rossi VR46 ex-MotoGP Champion testing the WRT BMW M4 GT3 at Imola Circuit - 11/03/2024

What a surprise to have seen Valentino Rossi back on the track! We are on the Imola circuit, and during a day of track testing organized by Kateyama, the nine-time motorcycle champion returned to the wheel of the BMW M4 GT3 of the WRT Racing Team. After a long and prestigious career on two wheels, Rossi currently dedicates himself to car racing, participating in the World Endurance Championship, the GT World Challenge Europe, some Endurance races of the 24H Series, and the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Recently, in February 2024, he participated in the Bathurst 12 Hours with the drivers Martin and Marciello, finishing fifth. The BMW M4 racing model debuted in the GT3 world in June 2021 and was developed based on the BMW M4 G82 road model. It, therefore, keeps the same engine; it is the P58 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line equipped with a double turbo capable of developing 590hp. The six-speed Xtrac gearbox with electro-hydraulic clutch moves it. Ci troviamo sul circuito di Imola e durante una giornata di test in pista organizzata da Kateyama, il nove volte campione di moto è tornato al volante della BMW M4 GT3 del WRT Racing Team. Dopo una lunga e prestigiosissima carriera con le due ruote, Rossi attualmente si dedica alle corse automobilistiche, partecipando al Campionato del mondo endurance, al GT World Challenge Europe e ad alcune gare Endurance della 24H Series e dell'Intercontinental GT Challenge. Recentemente, a Febbraio 2024 ha partecipato alla 12 Ore di Bathurst insieme a ai piloti Martin e Marciello arrivando quinto. Il modello BMW M4 da corsa ha debuttato nel mondo delle GT3 nel mese di Giugno 2021, ed è stata sviluppata sulla base del modello stradale BMW M4 G82. Mantiene quindi lo stesso motore, si tratta del P58 da 3.0-litri sei cilindri in linea dotato di doppio turbo capace di sviluppare 590hp.
