How to Winterize Your Banana Plant in BC, Canada
This is a demonstration to show you how to winterize your banana plants within the BC Lower Mainland Region. There are many different techniques out there but this has been the most easiest way of doing so! Materials bought from home depot: 5/16" bubble wrap ~$13.00 per roll 3M Scotch Outdoor electrical tape ~$6.00 When to Winterize? Beginning of November BEFORE the first frost! The bubble wrap is great for winterizing the stalk of the plant. The leaves are used to protect any roots or stalk exposed to frost damage. When to de-winterize? When we have steady temperatures 10 degrees celsius, or when we do not expect freezing levels to occur and no more frost! Ie. Mid to end of March! Hope you enjoy the clip.
