In this video, we show how dairy cows are kept in tethered housing at Ovsyannikov's private farm. ► When the farm was originally purchased at auction, it was initially equipped for tethered cow housing. According to the partners, the farm was in satisfactory condition, but renovations were still necessary. Therefore, to save money on starting the business, the partners decided not to renovate it, especially since the farm is small enough for loose housing. ► At the time of filming, the farm had 110 head of cattle. Of these, 36 were Black-and-White Holsteins, acquired from a breeding farm as adults. Another 36 Ayrshire cows were acquired as heifers, less than a year old. In total, there were 45 dairy cows, and another 25 heifers were approaching maturity. ► The average daily milk yield for the entire farm is 800 liters. All milk is sold to small private processors. However, the farm is already in full swing establishing its own milk processing facility. Plans include starting with cottage cheese and sour cream, then gradually expanding the product line. ► Initially, milk was sold at 31-32 rubles per liter; by the time of filming, the price had dropped significantly, forcing the partners to sell the milk at 26 rubles. ► Cows are constantly being cleaned. The farm employs 24-hour livestock keepers, who clean the manure eight times a day and add sawdust to prevent animal diseases that negatively impact milk quality. ► The manure removal system is an old Soviet TSM2B conveyor. Shovels scoop the manure into channels, where scrapers deliver it to a conveyor belt, from which it is removed from the housing and into a cart. Partners note the high reliability of this system. ► All manure is stored in the field for the fall, where it will be stacked and then incorporated into the soil. A small portion of the manure is sold to summer residents. ► At the time of filming, the farm employs 10 people, including an accountant working remotely.
