Thousands of disability applications are submitted to INPS every year, but only 67% receive a positive outcome. Many applications are rejected for trivial reasons, or even for procedural errors or inaccuracies that compromise the medical commission's final decision. Sometimes, accompaniment is granted, but you must undergo a review visit. You should know that you are entitled to receive benefits until you are called for a review. But let's take a step back: what is a review? When you submit your disability application, the INPS commission may decide that your disability is permanent or subject to review. The regulations regarding medical review underwent a major revision in 2014, with the following new changes: 1) The first is that INPS will call you for a medical examination, and you won't have to do anything but wait for the invitation; 2) any benefits will remain until they call you for a new examination. There's no need to be afraid of the medical review, because it doesn't necessarily mean your disability percentage will be reduced; rather, it could not only be confirmed, but even increased, thus offering an opportunity (e.g., if you have a 100% disability, you could be eligible for assistance). The main mistake to avoid is believing that since the illness is chronic, there's no need to provide additional medical documentation. This isn't the case; the medical documentation must confirm the pathologies and their disabling effects. Essentially, the medical documentation must comply with the method I created, known as the 3A method.
