Along the way, we visit the Nubia Museum in Aswan, a modern treasure house preserving artifacts from prehistoric Nubia through the Kushite pharaohs and into Christian and Islamic times. Kom Ombo is one of Egypt’s strangest temples. Built in the Ptolemaic period on a bend of the Nile, it was dedicated to two sets of gods in a perfectly symmetrical double design.
