Bears’ Fourth of July Picnic in Asheville

A mother black bear and her three cubs spent part of their Fourth of July night moving through my yard in Asheville, North Carolina, and the security cameras caught the whole backyard scene from multiple angles. The cubs made their way to the big dogwood tree, where one started climbing before the others joined in. For several minutes, they climbed, wrestled, and played around the tree while their mother stayed nearby. The family continued around the yard and along the house before the mother bear stopped at the bird bath for a drink. Later, she settled down in the backyard while the cubs kept exploring and playing around her. Altogether, the combined footage runs more than ten minutes and gives a close, natural look at an Asheville black bear family spending a quiet July 4th night in the yard. No fireworks needed. The bears brought the show.
