Seoul History and Culture Special Exhibition "Hanyang Women, Stepping Out - Working Women" In Joseon Dynasty Hanyang, women of various social classes lived both inside and outside the capital, from the queen, the head of the Naemyeongbu (Naemyeongbu), to women working in government offices like the Hyeminseo (Hyeminseo). Not only did these women faithfully fulfill their assigned roles, contributing to the stability of the national system, but they also actively engaged in religious activities that prayed for the well-being of their families and commercial activities that supported their household finances, transforming the urban space of Hanyang into a vibrant and vibrant place of life. Hanyang was a living space where women of all social classes, each striving to forge their own paths and live fiercely. Through this exhibition, we hope to explore the lives and work of women both within and outside the city walls, starting with those within the Gyumun area.
