Afghanistan 2012: Episode 5 - Taking Prisoners

Media loves to report on us taking "Prisoners" - we actually call them Detainees, but that's much less click-bait worthy. In this episode you will see two seperate missions where we captured the Insurgent we were targeting. You will see how we always secured their hands IN FRONT of them - not "Hog-Tied" behind their backs as again is what's otherwise sensationalised in the media or by those without firsthand experience. We secured their hands in-front in case they tripped over (you will see the terrain for yourself) while they are also blindfolded - because experience has taught us that otherwise people tend to land on their face. In the first clip you will again see our PRC - our Partner Force (see Episode 4 for more details) - they are the ones escorting the detainee onto the back of the Chinook helicopter. See if you can spot our highly skilled Explosive Detection Dog in the mix - don't let his cuteness fool you from his compact and effective stature. Context: July - November 2012, I deployed to Afghanistan with my Commando Platoon, November Platoon, within the Special Operations Task Group - Rotation 18. Now 10 years, here are some snippets of our time on deployment - footage that can be shown publicly. All footage was taken from my helmet camera or others and was authorised for personal possession during our end of deployment screening process.
