Conceptual Photography Process - "Regno" by Nicolas Bruno

In my experiences with sleep paralysis, I often feel the sensation of drowning, along with a strong gravitational force that pulls me into my bed. I created this image to express these feelings that I endure. I created this faux bedroom in my garden bed that I cleared out for the season. I dug a large hole and lined it with a painter's tarp, then lined the ground with stripped pallet boards. I built a fake wall out of large panels and painted butcher paper to create the wallpaper. I used my garden hose to pour water through the cut painting, and then clamped the hose to the retaining wall to create a constant misting of rain. The materials for this image include: Pallet wood (free) Antique bed (free at curb) Old bedding (free) Wall panels (~$12 each) Butcher Paper (~$10) Old framed painting (~$20 thrift store) In my experience, with a bit of imagination and planning, you can create an interesting conceptual photography set with minimal budget in your own backyard.
