In terms of atmosphere, prestige, and overall quality, perhaps only Denenchofu in Tokyo can rival Seijo. Seijo's streetscape is truly impressive. What are the criteria for the undefined concept of a prestigious residential area? Land prices, history, lot size, number of mansions, design of the mansions, beautiful streetscapes—the list goes on and on. The question of what makes a prestigious residential area is actually quite vague. However, I've always recognized the prestigious residential areas I've visited as such as soon as I entered. If I were to state my personal definition of a prestigious residential area, I'd say it's the atmosphere of the area. I can safely say that numbers like land prices and lot size alone don't determine whether an area is prestigious or not. In that respect, comparing towns is difficult. However, there are cities that have an overwhelming atmosphere, and even within those, there are degrees of impact. Furthermore, since it's ultimately just atmosphere, it will vary based on each person's values. Based on that premise, if I were to name Tokyo's high-end residential areas based on my own values, I would say that Denenchofu and Seijo are the two areas that most deserve the title.
