This trek wasn’t about reaching the destination—it was about everything that happened along the way. We started with excitement, ready for an adventure in the mountains. But nature had other plans. As we gained altitude, heavy rain began pouring down, soaking everything we had. Our clothes, sleeping bags, tents—nothing stayed dry. The temperature kept dropping, and every step became more challenging than the last. By the time we reached our campsite, we were exhausted, cold, and completely drenched. Even the firewood was wet, making it incredibly difficult to light a bonfire. What should have been a warm and comfortable evening turned into a test of patience and teamwork. Yet, those difficult moments became the most memorable ones. Everyone in the group supported each other, shared what they had, and kept the spirits high despite the weather. There were moments of struggle, but there were even more moments of laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories under the mountains. Due to trail conditions and recent disturbances in the area, we couldn’t explore everything we had originally planned. Some paths were not safe enough to continue further. While that part of the journey remained unfinished, the experience itself felt complete. The journey to Laka Glacier gave us stunning views, countless adventures, and stories we’ll be telling for years. Sometimes the mountains don’t give you the trip you planned—they give you the experience you need.
