FERRY BING SLAMET His name is FIRMAN SYAH, better known as FERRY BING SLAMET. He was born in Jakarta on September 17, 1958, the third of eight children born to his parents, BING SLAMET and R RATNA KAMALA FURY. Although his parents were superstars in their time, they didn't want their children to follow in their footsteps in the arts. As parents, they naturally wanted to provide the best in life, namely education. And ultimately, his children followed in his footsteps in the arts: ADI BING SLAMET and IYUT BING SLAMET, both of whom appeared as children, followed by UCI BING SLAMET. His two other children, FERRY BING SLAMET and YAN BING SLAMET, also made their mark on the Indonesian pop music scene at that time. Since his time in high school at SMA 10 Jakarta, he has been involved in the arts. He was active in the Karang Taruna (Youth Group) in his neighborhood, Jl. Arimbi No. 7, Tanah Tinggi, Central Jakarta, and his VG won several Folk Song competitions for his performance of Papa Bing's song "SANGSARO." In 1986, Ferry Bing Slamet received a contract from NUESANDI Records for the album "NONTON BIOSKOP" (WATCHING A CINEMA/Cipt. Bing Slamet & Benyamin S). Interestingly, this album demonstrated the distinctive legacy of Papa Bing. Ferry not only sings, acts, and plays music; he also produced works on his albums "KUSABAR MENANTI" (I'm Barely Waiting) and his sister Uci Bing Slamet's album "MANA JANJIMU" (Your Promise). Album after album was produced such as: Medley - Double RR - Mpot - mpotan, etc., again thumbs up for him because his foray into the world of art was truly his own effort without relying on the big name of his father 'Bing Slamet'. Although almost all of his father's friends and his own friends always praised the resemblance of his father's face, for him maybe because we are the children of 'Bing Slamet' at least the talent that his father had was passed down to his children. Honestly, if you say proud, you are definitely proud to have a father BING, even not just us children. Papa already belongs to everyone and we are not the least bit jealous of the little time given to us, because we know that is his job to support his family. Currently, 'Ferry Bing Slamet' is active in arts organizations as the Chair of the DPC PAPPRI - Central Jakarta for the period 2020 - 2025. Ferry has also recorded a single album entitled ASMARAKU by MAXIE MAMIRI and BISIKAN MESARA /Cipt.Ferry Bing Slamet has been released and can be enjoyed on #Youtube. In the near future, Ferry Bing Slamet along with a number of big singers, such as: TITIEK SANDHORA - MUCHSIN ALATAS - MARINA ELSERA - BAND 4 NADA will hold a 7-room Live Streaming Concert on Saturday, September 17, 2020 / 7:00 PM WIB.
