Shuttle Tatting with Buttons - Part 1 - Rings and Chains
In this video, the first in a three part series, I discuss using buttons in shuttle tatting. This is a simple pattern to practice your rings and chains while joining to the four holes in a standard button. Using size 10 thread - a 5/8 inch (15mm) button is recommended Using size 20 thread - a 1/2 inch (12mm) button is recommended The pattern follows..... **Ring A 5 + (join to any hole in the button) 5, rw Chain 10, rw Ring B 5 + (join to same hole) 5, rw Chain 10, rw** Repeat from ** to ** three (3) more times around the button After finishing the last chain, cut and tie ends Although this technique does require some practice to get the joins to look tidy, you can do this! Please keep practicing! Have fun! Thank you for watching!
