#75 Finding a Way to Unlock our Brains with Sal Chadwick

Welcome to the Everyday Heroes Podcast where we connect parents of autistic children with leading autism experts worldwide, giving you clarity, confidence, and practical guidance to help your child thrive. This week I get the honour of introducing you to Sal Chadwick. An incredible human being, with an even more incredible mission. Sal is the founder of Our Totally Super Awesome Brain, a platform born from a promise to her son to "unlock" the potential of the neurodiverse mind. After 15 years in Financial Services, Sal pivoted to community advocacy, now serving on the board of the Social Inclusion Action Group, her local Women’s Shed, and working within local government Child and Family Services. A dedicated educator, Sal is an Autism Swim certified teacher and lifeguard specializing in reflex work for babies and toddlers, and also leads Aqua Aerobics for the elderly. Working with BrainFit Kids, her mission is to help parents find the "missing pieces of the puzzle" through neuroscience and functional medicine. By sharing her journey, Sal empowers families to explore new strategies and help their children thrive. In our conversion we spoke about: ▶️ The pivitol moment that changed everything for Sal and her son in 2023. ▶️ What the “missing pieces” families often don’t get from traditional therapy settings. ▶️ Sal's 9 step framework. ▶️ How working in the water helps to support reflex integration and a child’s development. ▶️ What communities can do better at when support neurodiverse families ▶️ How Sal's in Financial Services prepared her for advocacy and navigating support systems. ▶️ The first step a parent can take when they’re feeling overwhelmed by school challenges or family stress. _____________________________________________ Connect with Sal: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
