Landing a Piper Archer III at Lee on Solent airfield Runway 05 GOPR0967

From left base, turning on to final for Runway 05 at Lee on Solent. The circuit for powered aircraft is left-hand for R05 and right-hand for R23, but DO check their website and the relevant plates. PPR is mandatory. Gliders operate there too as well as a SAR helicopter, so no overhead joins. As you can see, there is a long displaced threshold to give a good height over the beach, road and buildings, so we were surprised to see a couple of aircraft coming in too low ! The airfield is fully licensed and reorganised. The people there are very friendly and efficient, so we will certainly go again. There is also a gate to provide a short walk to the beach, snacks, ice-creams etc.
