I almost skipped this stop. On my way home from Tofield, I found myself in the tiny Village of Edberg, Alberta, for a Day of the Dead Taco & Trivia Night at Cherry Lane Bed & Breakfast. At first glance, it seemed like a small community event. But as I met people from Edberg, Ferintosh, Forestburg, and the surrounding area, I discovered a much bigger story. Across rural Alberta, many small communities are facing challenges as populations shrink and services disappear. Yet places like Edberg continue to find ways to bring people together and create a vibrant community life. What does it take to keep a small town alive?
