The historic downtown area is quaint, with lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities. For theater lovers, find Florida Theater right on the island. Sharky's and Finn's by the Venice Pier will get you some of the best views. And walk your dog on Brohard beach, Sarasota County's only dog-friendly beach where your dog is allowed to run around freely.
