Who is really listening to the people of Makerfield?

A by-election will take place in Makerfield, Greater Manchester, on Thursday 18th June. This has taken on great significance as Labour's candidate, Andy Burnham (the Mayor of Greater Manchester) is hoping to win and then stand against Keir Starmer to be Labour leader - and Prime Minister. This is a gamble for Burnham as the Reform Party won all but one of the council seats in the local election in May. What do the people of Makerfield think of all this? And what is life like for residents? To help me find out, I was accompanied by Jan Cunliffe and Tony Broxson. Film was shot and edited by Liam Scully.
