Roland W-30 | The first Roland workstation
Roland W-30 sampling workstation from 1989. The last of the 12-bit S era from Roland. It even had a ROM chip with samples already on it so you could start playing right away. All this on 1989, at the time of release was big. However, not big enough to compete with Akai and Roland refused to make their samplers Akai compatible. And they suffered for it. https://espenkraft.bandcamp.com/ 00:00 Intro and background 02:28 Some favorite sounds (with filter, resonance and envelopes) Effects by Ensoniq DP/4+ 13:34 Sampling 21:13 How I used the W-30 to produce a complete song (arranging in the DAW)
